CENTRAL ENGLAND TEMPERATURE - 350 year Analysis
............ NAP - North Atlantic Precursor and GP - Global Precursor are known naturally occurring processes independent from any climatic or oceanic events.
............ North Atlantic Precursor can (possibly) be affected by the Global Precursor, but reverse is not true ( both normalised to the CETs ).
............
There are three distinct periods:
............ 1 & 3 : NAP
and GP are in phase, the CETs follow the common trend.
............ 2 : NAP
and GP are in anti-phase CETs mainly drift sideways or follow the more effective of the two .
............ Sub-phase 4:
while NAP and GP are in phase, the CETs surge by 0.2 - 0.3 degrees C.
............
This can be attributed to other, distinct from the known natural processes: CO2, UHI (most likely), ozone hole or other.
............
If large volcanic eruptions (Katla 1755 and in the early 1800's Mayon and Tambora) are taken into account, than GP 'proxy' has a good 350 yr track with the CETs.
